Woolwich Police Station

The former Woolwich Police station dates back to 1910 and has been vacant since February 2014. The grade II listed brick frontage building is 3-storeys in height with a pitched roof and a basement level. The new development consists of 19 residential units within the existing building and three new build ‘mews’ style houses which will replace outbuildings to the rear.

Refurbishment

The restoration involved the removal of existing structural walls. Penetrations into the existing slabs were required for services. Additionally, there was a large loft conversion which involved replacing the existing structural layouts to create larger spaces. In three locations on site, there was a 1-storey extension.

Permanent Works

The construction of a 1-storey outhouse was required to replace an existing external structure.

Planning Conditions

WBD provided the services to meet specified planning conditions. These services included Transport Logistics Plans, Construction Method Statements and Structural Schemes to ensure the refurbishment of the listed building was completed within the regulations.
